Randomness

  • We've been busy with lots of work. Which is great! But it's a lot of work. LOL. We are really close to being caught up on orders and that will cut down our turnaround time. Wahoo!

  • We finally got our new couch. I love love love it! I want to sew some more pillows for it. Maybe in navy blue and mustard yellow. I can't decide on final colors for the living room..

  • I want to paint the entire house (the inside) but I'm scared. I don't want to take on a big project like that and then not have time to finish it.

  • I'm still doing Weight Watchers but I removed the tab on my blog because I was probably the only one who looked at it. I've lost 16 pounds since I restarted and I have about 15 more to go to hit goal. Slowly but surely! :) My mom has lost over 110 now! She is now within her healthy weight range but she wants to loose a little bit more. I'm so proud of her!

  • Bella really wants to go to the park lately but the weather just really doesn't want to cooperate. I just wish it would warm up and stay there!

  • We made smores yesterday in the oven at my mom's house. Yum! Did you know you could do that?

  • Bella with her potato bug. She loved him!
    • I bough Bella some flower seeds and they are growing so good! They are marigolds, cone flowers and forget me nots. Soon we will be able to plant them outside.

That's about it! We've just been hoping for warmer weather and keeping busy with work. Bella is so much fun lately and talks so much. She seriously is the smartest kid ever. Does every mom think that?

    Happy Memorial Weekend everyone!

    Tazy and Bella

I love these pictures of Tazy and Bells. They are such good friends! You'd never know that they have so many years in between them. Bella is really going to miss her cousin when they move to Vegas!! :(

    Zoo!

Saturday we decided to go to the zoo for the Sunrise Safari. Let me tell you.. there is NO better time to go to the zoo. Every now and then they open the zoo early for zoo members. There was hardly anyone there, the weather was perfect. It was seriously heaven.. until like 10 am when the rest of the world got there. But we had a good time and Bella loved everything about it!

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.. I left my camera in the car and my mom forgot her memory card. Story of our lives! LOL!

This year they have these animated dinosaurs scattered throughout the park. They are so life like! They make noises and move. Bella thought they were pretty scary though. She's hiding in the picture above :)

Baby Zuri is getting so big. She's 5 feet tall now. She will be 2 this year.

    Yeehaw!

Last year Bella was the size as the baby gorilla and this year she is closer to the juvenile one. She is growing so fast!

Bella really loved the train and carousel. Her favorite animal was the elephant. We had an awesome time at the zoo and we can't wait to go again!

    Dance Recital

Yesterday Bella had her first ever dance recital. She wasn't afraid of being on the stage at all but all of the girls were a little confused about dancing on the stage. Bright lights, lots of people and 2 year olds make a great time! But it was so cute and the girls did so awesome for being so little. I was so proud of her! Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, Ty, Skye, AJ, Jaden, Tayzhia, Gretchen and Emma all made it for the recital. She received a trophy and also got flowers after the dance. She was so happy!

She absolutely LOVED her costume. It was gorgeous and so sparkly!

    During the dress rehearsal

We are taking the summer off from dance and starting again in the fall. She is going to miss it but I really want her to have a break during the summer. She is such a good little dancer!

    New Pictures

Skye asked me to take pictures of her girls in their dance costumes and Jaden with his guitar. Yesterday was the perfect day for taking pictures. It was mostly overcast but still warm. We went to the train station.

Her kids are SO photogenic. It was easy to get good pictures of them. Plus there is this door, the magic door. Seriously the lighting is so good by it. So we take lots of pictures there. Especially cause I have no idea what I'm doing. Ha ha.

Jaden started playing guitar a few years ago and he is so good. I'm so proud of him!

    Spring? Where are you?

Does anyone else feel that we are just going to skip over spring this year and head straight to summer? Mother Nature keeps teasing us with warm weather but it sure isn't lasting that long :( Plus all the worries about flooding.. we are way to close to the Weber River and it's rising fast.. Hopefully we don't have any problems this year.

    Bella helping water grandma's flowers

On the good days we have been trying to soak up the sun as much as possible. So far this spring we have flown kites, spent time working on the yard, fed the ducks at the park, played outside. I'm excited to visit the zoo soon and Carver's Cove.

When we went to feed the ducks the other day there were hardly any there and the ones that were there weren't hungry at all. They must have been pretty spoiled! Just a couple more days of this rainy weather and then we should get some sunshine.. for a few days at least!

    Happy Mother's Day!

There is not a day that goes by that I don't appreciate how very blessed I am. I love every second of being a mommy. The good & the bad. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I was clueless what I wanted to do with my life when I grew up but I always knew I wanted to be a mom. We love baking cookies, going to the park, coloring and painting our fingernails.

I'm also very blessed to have the sweetest mom in the world. She will never know how much I admire her and look to her for advice. Love you mom!

Happy Mother's Day to all my mommy and mommy to-be friends!

A Mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world.

Conversations with a 2 year old..

Kids are so funny! I had no idea that a 2 year olds talked so much!

    This has started...
    "Where'd that come from?"
    "What are those?"
    "What is that?"

She is SO silly. I can't believe the things she picks up.
    "I have to check my me-mails (e-mails)

"Mike Wazowski!" (you know.. from Monsters Inc)

She also calls the washing machine the wishing well. I wish! I would be way more excited to do laundry.

Until just recently the answer to every question was "one".

Me: Bella, how old are you?
    Bella: One.
Me: Bella, what is your name?
    Bella: One.
We have been working on this and she can now say "My name is Bella". However, the answer to how old are you is now "My name is Bella".

She says "I love you!" and sometimes she even adds, "so so much!".

She also knows ALL of her colors and shapes. She can also speak a little Spanish, thanks to Dora.

     I LOVE this girl!

    Sugar Cookies!

We have been wanting to make some sugar cookies for awhile now and tonight we finally did it.

Bella had a blast! And I'll have to admit that I did too :)

Don't mind my hair and hardly any makeup look..

    I love these tiny hands!!

This is after baking them. They didn't spread at all. Amazing!

See? It's a hedgehog. I got my cookie cutters from Ikea. $3 for adorable woodland cookie cutters? Don't mind if I do!

Time to decorate! Bella may or may not have licked the frosting off the cookie before we even made it to the sprinkles.

She loved adding the sprinkles and picked them out herself from the grocery store.

And the verdict....    she loves them! I love being a mom and having an excuse to goof around. We have so much fun!

They really are good cookies. If anyone is interested, I used this recipe.

    Spring time!

Today was the perfect day for the park so we took full advantage. It was a little bit windy so we decided to fly the kites that we got for Easter.

Bella loves the park. Really, what kid doesn't?

She was a natural at flying kites. She knew exactly what to do when it started losing air. She's a smart little gal.

I seriously love this guy. He is the best dad ever. Bella adores him and so do I.

I should mention that we have the best park ever by our house. It's only a few minutes away which is saying a lot for us since it takes 20 minutes to drive to the grocery store. And there is never anybody else there. They have a playground, swings, a baseball diamond, rodeo grounds, and picnic tables. It's really well kept. We love it!
